How to apply for New GST Registration in India

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a comprehensive tax which is levied on the supply of goods and services across the India. GST “One India, One Tax” is ready to roll-out in India from 1st July 2017. In this guide we have to discuss how to apply for New GST Registration.

All the existing dealer need to registered himself in the GST but how to do this job? It is the main question arise in front of them. In this guide we have to discuss about the registration process for new business registration. If you are existing dealer then you must have to fill all the important information in the form to start the registration process in the GST.

GST Registration threshold is Rs. 10 Lakhs for North East India, Sikkim, J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. If you does not belong to specified reign then GST Registration threshold in Rs. 20 Lakhs for rest of the India. It is assumed that approximately up to 8 million businesses to be registered in to the GST.

How to apply for New GST Registration

If you are a small dealers and your turnover is under Rs. 50 Lakhs then you can take benefit of composition scheme under the GST. In the composition scheme you have to pay flat 1 to 4% tax on total turnover. If you are a regular dealer or a composite tax payer then you must have to take given steps for GST registration process. If you want to apply for New GST Registration then you have to take given steps, have look.

How to apply for New GST Registration

Step 1: You have to fill the Part-A of GST REG-01 Form. You have to give the detail of your PAN card, Mobile Number and E-Mail Id in this form.

Step 2: After the verification of your PAN card on GST Portal, your Email Id and Mobile number is verified with OTP (One time password). Now, you will get an application reference number on your mobile number and E-Mail ID both.

Step 3: Fill the Part-B of GST REG-01 Form and specify the application reference number which you get on your mobile number or Email Id. You must have to attach given required documents and upload them and finally submit your form.

Photographs: Any Passport size photograph of the Proprietor, Partners, Managing Trustee, Committee or any Authorized Signatory.

Constitution of Taxpayer: Any Registration certificate, Partnership deep or any other constitution proof.

Proof of Principal or Additional Place of Business:

If you running business in your own premises for business then you have to attach latest property tax receipt or Municipal Khata copy or Electricity Bill copy.

If you running business in any rented or leased premises then attach rent copy, rent/lease agreement, latest property tax receipt or Municipal Khata copy or Electricity Bill copy.

Bank Account Documents: You have to attach first page scanned copy of your bank passbook or bank statement.

Authorization Forms: For each authorized signatory you have to upload authorization copy or copy of resolution of managing committee or board of directors in the prescribed format.

Step 4: If you want to give any additional information then you have to give information in the GST REG-03 Form. You must need to respond GST REG-04 Form with required information with the 7 days from the date of receipt of GST REG-03 Form.

Step 5: If all the required information are provided by you in the GST REG-01 or GST REG-04 form then, a certification of registration GST REG-06 will be issued to you within the 3 days from the date of receipt of GST REG-01 and GST REG-04 Form.

Step 6: If given information from your side are not satisfactory then your registration application will be rejected using the GST REG-05 Form.

  1. GST REG-07: It is an application for Registration as Tax Deductor or Tax Collector at Source.
  2. GST REG-08: It is an order of cancellation of application for Registration as Tax Deductor or Tax Collector at Source.
  3. GST REG-09: This Form is used to the application for allotment of an Unique ID to UN Bodies or an Embassies.
  4. GST REG-10: GST REG-10 Form is used for the application for Registration for Non Resident Taxable Person
