How to use Journal Voucher in Tally

Journal Voucher in Tally:

Journal voucher in an important voucher in tally which is used to make all kind of adjustment entries, credit purchases or sales all fixed assets entries. You can press F7 shortcut key to activate this voucher in the Tally software.

Types of Vouchers in Tally:

By default there are 18 vouchers already created in Tally software, which is divided into two parts:
1. Accounting Vouchers
2. Inventory Vouchers

Accounting Vouchers:

There are 10 accounting vouchers already created in Tally software. You can create, delete or modify other vouchers as per your requirement.

Inventory Vouchers:

There are by default 8 inventory vouchers are automatically created in Tally software. You can create, delete or modify other vouchers as per your requirement.
Today we talk about one of the most important voucher which name is “Journal Voucher” in Tally. Journal entries are very important during the finalizing the company accounts. You can make following entries in this voucher like sales/ purchase returns, outstanding exp, depreciation, accrued interest and tax adjustments etc.

Journal Vouchers are used to adjust the debit and credit amounts without using the cash or bank accounts. Journal voucher entries are also known as adjustment entries. You can also make any credit purchases or sales any fixed assets entry through this voucher. You have to press F7 shortcut to activate Journal voucher in Tally.

Journal Voucher (F7):

This voucher is used for all adjustment or due entries in tally software, or in other words entry which is not made by other accounting vouchers are made by this voucher.
Exp: Credit purchases any fixed assets from creditor Rs. 100000/-
Dr. Fixed Assets 100000
Cr. Creditor 100000

Exp. Dep. charge on car @ 10% of computer (Price:10000)
Dr. Dep. on computer 1000
Cr. Computer 1000
